MISS MARGARITA

Opposite the busy Beach Hotel, this has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten at. Beautiful authentic artwork and decor, accompanied with a vibrant and flavoursome menu it was very easy to wander up from the beach and settle in for the afternoon. From lunch time each day this spot is always buzzing! Could be the incredibly friendly staff pulling people in or the extensive cocktail list but Miss Margarita hit the spot every time.

WHAT I ORDERED
– Mexican pulled pork nachos
– Classic mojito

HIGHLIGHTS
– Authentic Mexican styling
– Cheap happy hour
– Fast service
– Gluten free tortilla chips, quesadillas and tacos
– Triple J playlist

YOUKNOWCHLO RATINGS

NUT FREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE

I could not see any nuts listed on the lunch menu

minimal – good – GREAT

FRUCTOSE FREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE

Mexican is always a hard cuisine when it comes to fructose, especially garlic and onion. Without modifying the dishes it would be very hard to order and even when I did change my dish, the meats all contain garlic and onion of varying degrees. Their hot sauce didn’t have garlic or onion which was a major win for me!

MINIMALgood – great

STAFF KNOWLEDGE AND HELPFULNESS

The waitress gave me a list of all of the allergens included in each dish so we could easily see what was suitable for me. All of the meats had garlic and onion in them but the pork had the least so I opted for that to at least keep my intake low. I was ok with the sour cream and guacamole but she suggested we put the chilli salsa and pico de gallo on the side as they wouldn’t sit well with me but my boyfriend could still have them.

minimal – good – GREAT
