Prime location on a corner in the main strip of Jonson street, this place kept pulling us back in! I just loved the variety of their menu and the low-key seating options. We both found something to eat with ease and the live music really added to the atmosphere. Every time we headed to the Balcony, it was late afternoon so we conveniently found ourselves in their happy hour!
WHAT I ORDERED
– Prawn zucchini noodles (asked for no garlic)
– A couple of drinks including mojitos, moscow mules and frose… don’t worry guys, not all in one night!
– Great daily specials
– Great menu variety
– $12 espresso martinis from 9:30pm every day
– Friendly staff
– Live music
Only almonds were used in their kitchen as apposed to a whole variety of nuts in most other cafes. Of the whole menu only I could only identify two dishes that contained the almonds so I was quite confident I would be having an allergy free dining experience
Plenty of garlic on the menu but it can mostly be taken out of the dish or is only in the sauce served on the side so it can be avoided
Most staff were travellers with exotic accents which was interesting! Service was quick and we were regularly checked up on. They were reassuring when it came to my dietary requests and re-stated that it was “no nuts and no garlic” when serving out meals.
They had no problem taking the garlic out of my dish
This was the first time I had actually tried zucchini noodles and I loved them! Prawns and chilli are a match made in heaven
Cost of meals were on the higher side but with the cheap happy hour and daily specials, the bill seemed to level out
